Layering

Think of Sosaria as 16 layers high.  You can’t stack more than 16 things on top of each other – you simply run out of layers. However, you can make more than one object stack in the same layer by using the dec tool. This only worlks in the first 15 layers....

1) Stack object 1 (in this case a cloak) on top of object 2 ( in this case a bench).

2) Lock both down.

3) Lower the top object once with the dec tool.

In the picture below, you can see what happens when you try to sit on a bench that has a cloak on top of it. This bench is in layer 1, and the cloak is on top of it in layer 2. When you sit, you go right on top of layer 1….so you go under the layer 2 cloak. Boo! Hiss! That's no good! But....Next to this, you can see the same two objects once I have forced them into the same layer using the dec tool. The cloak is sharing the layer with the bench, so I sit neatly on top of it all.

This also works when raising objects...Just raise objects the same number of times and they will share a layer.

It's important to note that you should only force things to share a layer if the order doesn''t matter. In a layer that has more than one object in it, sometimes one item will be "in front" and sometimes the other will be "in front."

For getting things one layer higher than the dec tool can place them and stacking multiple items in that layer, see the section on high stacking.
